Limits or Power Pod?

Just pricing up the entry level power meters out there and my spend wont allow me to go north of the price point of these two devices.
So should I go with Limits or Power Pod and has anyone early birded either of them?

Power Pod is just educated guesswork isn't it? For me that would seriously limit any practical application. I would therefore favour Limits, if you are happy with your feet being wider apart (if they could sort that issue out I would be quite tempted - you'd think they could come up with a pedal with a shortened spindle or something).0

Yeah I read those and the response from Limits.
I wouldnt be early adopting now as the buy 2 perk has expired.0 -
Limits is bullplop and Power Pod is no more accurate than the estimated power provided by Strava.
Save up for Stages, Vector or P2M.0 -
Any thoughts on Favero?0

Limits is vapourware. When (if?) it's finally released I have incredibly low expectations of their reliability and data quality (and I have a feeling I'll be let down). Save up and buy something with a company behind it that doesn't lose their rag when you need to complain about how crap their product is.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

That's the issue, I will never save that much so its either budget power or no power for me.0

I have the Favero BePro and am happy with it. I just got it and have used it 3 times. Install was easy and no hiccups for the moment.0

Considering you wouldn't be able to get hold of the Limits for another six months (best case), surely you could save extra pennies until then and buy something that's actually worth a damn.
You can also look at used. PowerTaps can be found around £300 and P2M's and Quarq's can be had around £400. Even Stages is a better option and can be found around £300 if you look hard enough (£334 brand new for the Rival GXP version).
If you can't get a power meter that actually works, then save your money. RPE is a million times more effective than estimated power.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0 -

Not heard of that one.0 -

So, not all that bad then? DCR's review of the power pod was fairly positive anyway, albeit with a few caveats.0 -
Limits appears to be pretty much a scam as far as I can tell. A mate has the favero Bepro pedals and they have been spot on for the price he paid.0 -
I just read the DCR review of them and its looks a bit fiddly going between bikes.
Might stick to Strava estimated power for now and invest in better kit and tyres.0 -

If you're not going to use a PM then you should completely ignore estimated power. I can pull more meaningful numbers out of my ass.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0
