Two bikes. Similar Specs. Two totally different prices.

I'm looking at the Trek One Series 1.1 @ £550, vs. the Specialized Diverge A1 @ £800. Both have Shimano Claris, both have aluminium frames and carbon forks, and aside from the different brakes everything else is own-brand finishing kit. I appreciate that the Trek is sold as a traditional road bike whereas the Specialized is sold as an adventure road bike, but why the £250 difference in price?

The more expensive one might have a better frame/fork?
Test ride 'em both and make your own mind up0 -

I have a diverge comp which is a good bike for me with decent brakes. It is smooth on the road and handles reasonably smooth off road trails very well. Much prefer it to my previous rim braked road bike.0
