XT 1x11 Gear set - price and advice

My friends chain set is end of life 3x9 on his Prophet and is thinking now is a good time to switch 1x11.
Does he need to worry about Chainline? Is ispec 2 compatible with his Deore Brake levers?
He's pretty fit and reckon 32 at the front will be fine but where is the better deals at the moment? CRC want just shy of £300?

I got my XT shifter, cassette, mech and KMC chain from bike24 for about 170ish narrow wide is around 25-50 depending on make. You get the shifters in both ispec's as well as standard fit. I got standard fit so I could have it in the position I wanted.

So a gear set of m8000 1x11 is like hens teeth - most are 2X
Putting it together from individual parts I can't seem to get a combined price under £300?
Anyone seen any good deals?

Shifter, ring, cassette, chain, mech - shouldn't be £300, can use any n/w ring.
