Morning All,
After last night rather muddy and wet ride out I am thinking of investing in a pair of overshoes.
Can anybody recommend a good quality, reliable and fairly waterproof overshoes for flat pedals ??
I would like to avoid one with the Velcro at the bottom.
I do use SealSkinz socks but my shoes still get muddy, dirty and wet...
Many thanks
Chris

The Endura MT500's look well built, but any flat pedals with spikes are going to cause damage to the sole.. maybe waterproof shoes are the way forward with flats?0

Not really anything on the market for flat shoes unfortunately. Best thing you can do is buy some cheap ones a size up and cut the velcro strap off the bottom - not an ideal solution but you'll get a winter out of them. Which flats do you use? I find my 5-10 Sam Hill's pretty good for keeping water out combined with a decent pair of socks. The best thing for keeping feet dry is using a pair of waterproof overtrousers so the rain can't get inside the shoe.0

Would be amazed if they offer any grip. Might as well be riding wearing a pair of wellington boots0 -
I use overshoes for road, but find them problematic off road, they get mud underneath, peal off at the toes etc.
A pair of seal skinz socks normally works well for me. Even if full of water they keep my feet warm.0 -

Its not the warmth Im after as I do use seal skinz socks anyway - its just to keep cr*p off my shoes - its a PITA to clean them later.0 -
Just let them dry, whack the worst of the dried mud off, and ride. They're just going to get covered in shite again.I don't do smileys.

Overshoes are useful for clipless because it saves you from having to buy waterproof bike shoes.
Flat pedals don't have that problem because they work with any shoes. I would just wear the waterproof boots you already own when it is wet or snowing.0 -

Really??? I found them more absorbent than a sponge and they took forever to dry.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
i wear overshoes when out winter training on my road bikes, they keep you feet warm and dryer - for a bit, but evetually water gets in.
Forget them, if you have pins on your flat pedals they will get ripped to shreds anyway, either except the fact your feet are going to get wet or maybe try bags.0
