Morning all,
Decided to drive in today having seen the forecast. I had to drive in one day to carry stuff so today won the vote. Bad timing as I had to leave late after waiting for the chippy, this meant traffic was worse than usual. Deep joy. Hoping for a quiet day workwise, unfortunately the office won't be quiet as everyone is in. The good news is my second cup of tea has been delivered. Bunking off early as I've got the car so I can pick the Mrs up on the way home.
Better try to post this before someone else starts a thread.

Windy and wet, headset bearings on The Winter Trolley playing up (brand new but steering straight ahead only and now in bits on my floor being sorted) so not the nicest ride.
Apart from that, a couple of guys flying out today so just sorting a few bits for them and drinking coffee.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

has it become a competition?
Quiet day again. Tonights pedal should be fun.
Anyone able and want to tell me what the cable things are that go across a road, often from a lamppost please?0 -
Today was a return from visiting Mum. That meant an airport (very busy), a full plane, and lots traffic to negotiate once we landed. Still, it all ran on schedule, and the airline didn't lose anything for a change, so not all bad.
Only the quarter-ton couple in the row behind us to complain about, seemed intent on sharing their personal crises and flu germs with as many others as possible. So far, a medium whiskey and a large shiraz have been used to combat the infections....Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -
Fluffer, it's not really a competition, but nobody wants to be a failure and come second. Do you mean telephone cables? They come from the olden days before people had mobiles and the world was in black and white.0

If you mean these, they measure traffic volume I think0 -

Nope, I mean two black lines that run parallel to each other across the road ending before a gutter but starting at a lamppost or similar. Do I need to take a picture on my drive home
Cheers Ballys that was them0 -

Busy morning with more to come but lunch is tasty and substantial and tonight is free food and beer so life isn't all bad. May leave the bike at work this evening..."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

Working from home today so that takes the choice out of my hands!
Did go out on the bike before I started, really was the calm before the storm, barely any wind at all. Lots of fog though and rain now. SO today goes something like this:
Fog, fog clears, Rain, Heavy Rain, Rain clears, Wind, then ALL the wind!
I hate this time of year!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

Af'noon shirkers.
9.11 am whilst you were at work VN? That's champion shirking on A local council scale.
Started off fresh and clear, then a mild front came in and started chucking buckets at us. Got the whole crew in today for a once in a blue moon deep scrub of the Gulag.
Is this Stevo bashing week? Brilliant.

If the weather is too rough to get out on your bikes and you don't fancy the turbo, try this for exercise.

Work meh day made worse by the m420

M42. That's the one where they squeezed a 4 lane motorway into a dual carriageway, worse it goes near Coventry.
Flaneur mentioned the M62 yesterday. I think I should start swearing like you lot, I should shout M25 or M5/M6 junction.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

M5/m6 an easy avoid thanks to the toll road0 -

I have never used it. M54 - Telford - A442 Bridgnorth. If I got to the big smoke or beyond, A66 - M1.
