Cross Disc Wheels for about $500

I want to get some new wheels for my cross bike...There is limited availability for disc specific stuff, so I'm sure you guys on the forum could help. I'm not looking for anything crazy expensive, just around $500. I was thinking maybe the Kinesis Crosslight Disc v3, or some 29er wheel. Could I get some crazy deal on black friday / christmas sales? Any other options? I will be running 32c cross clinchers and 28 road tires. Also some advice for rim width, alu vs. carbon and rim depth would help.

Dollars or pounds? If £500 I'd just get handbuilts. Loads of choices. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

500 USD. I may want to learn how to hand build wheels, it would be a fun project for the winter, or I could by wheels that are already handbuilt. Also, I want clincher / tubeless rims because I will be using them for everyday use as well as racing.0 -

Spokes - ~£30 (I use DT Swiss Competition/Revolution)
Tubs direct from FMB - ~£110
Mastik, Aquasure etc ~£10
Total £450 if you build them yourself. Although I've never paid anyone else to build a wheelset, I gather the going rate is in the ballpark of £50.
Build them yourself and don't include the cost of the tubs, and you're looking at about $500.
Edit: You can achieve a comparable weight with Stan's Iron Cross rims for a bit less money (this is what I use for training). It's a couple of years since I did the research on tubeless rims though, so there may well be better rims than Iron Cross now.Pannier, 120rpm.0
