Disc brake bike on turbo trainer

Hi i have recently bought a turbo trainer for my disc brake 10 speed 700x 35c bicycle. The shop told me that i am better off getting a second hand wheel to have my trainer tire on so that i wont have to keep changing tires which seem reasonable enough. But as it is a spare wheel i dont want to spend any more than i have to (trainer was expensive enough haha) i have 2 questions.does it have to be a disc brake wheel i put on? As the turbo tells me not to use the brakes as it could brake it and does it need to be a 10speed wheel as well? Seems like if it is my pockets gonna get a lot smaller ha help appreciated

Does not need to be a disc wheel but does need the correct spacing to fit the dropouts. You will need to put a spacer between the disc pads on the rear caliper in case you inadvertently pull the rear brake lever.Rose Xeon CDX 3100, Ultegra Di2 disc (nice weather)
Ribble Gran Fondo, Campagnolo Centaur (winter bike)
Van Raam 'O' Pair
Land Rover (really nasty weather )0 -

I'd take a step back if I were you - not all turbos are harsh on tyres.
I do a lot of sessions on my turbo in winter and the wear is the same as on the road. There's not much point in me buying another wheel and tyre to save tyre wear - it takes a long time to wear down a tyre.
And most people dont do turbo sessions more than a few times anyway.0
