I currently use PX Thicky Merino socks in winter. Good, but not great. Are Defeet Woolie Boolies any warmer?

The Woolie Boolies are very warm...but they are also very thick. Some folks I know use them in the winter but then have a pair of winter shoes that are one size bigger than norm. I cannot afford that kind of luxury so just use my normal shoes with a decent (non-aerated) sock and then oversocks. The Prendas merino wool ones are quite good but they do come up a little short so not great for tucking into leg warmers, etc.
I do keep buying Woolie Boolies but mainly because they are a great sock for padding around the house0 -
I reckon Woolie Boolies are superb - in cold weather I wear them with neoprene overshoes and the combination keeps me toasty warm. As mentioned above, they are also superbly comfortable for wearing around the house from this time of year onwards. I haven't bought any alternatives to compare with.

Even with PX merino socks, taped vents, loose-ish shoes, and neoprene overshoes my feel still freeze when it gets close to 0. Think I'll give the Woolie Boolies a go, cheers.
For cycling only though, I wear old man slippers round the house!0 -

DHB's new aeron merino winter socks are ridiculously warm and great value

I use DeFeet oversocks when it's super cold and Rapha Merino socks throughout the winter.
Recommend both products. Although I don't suffer too much in cold weather.BikeRadar Communities Manager0 -

Prendas Thermolite

Warmer and thinner (therefore warmer in shoes that are not bought oversized) than Woolie Boolies in my experience
Granted they don't "feel" as nice or wick as well but I have not worn my Woolie Boolies for 5 winters of cycling since getting my first pair. One of those excellent, stand out pieces of kit.
I also agree though that Woolie Boolies are lovely to wear off the bikeCoach H. (Dont ask me for training advice - 'It's not about the bike')0 -
If the Woolie Bolies are too thick and a tight fit in your shoes you may find your feet get even colder. If so, ski socks are a good alternative as they tend not to be too thick but are good insulation.
Decathlon do a ski sock which is a mix of wool/silk/man made fibre. I wear them on very cold days with neoprene overshoes.0 -
Does any one have experience of Rapha's deep winter sock?0

Avoid. No where near as hard wearing as the Woolie Bollie0
