It's been a while since I bought one but has the Barfly 2.0 been superseded by the SLI?

If so, does anyone know which works best with a Garmin 520, the SLI or SLI 2.0:

The 2.0 is listed for smaller computers e.g. the 510 so I'm guessing is the better fit although the 520 has the buttons on the bottom. I've got the "Old" 2.0 and it's fine with the 520 so guessing it's the way to go.

As an aside, if you don't need to hang 5kg of cameras etc off the bottom is this a backwards step from the older one as it looks heavier.

Was also wondering about the differences between the Direct and Direct 2.0 if anyone has an insight:

Barfly 2.0 works fine with the 520 and there is enough clearance between the bottom of the 520 and the handle bar.

However the Garmin handle bar mount which comes with the 520 is very good and I now use that.
  • Yes, I've got an "original" 2.0 on another bike and I agree it's fine with the 520 (tiny bit of a squeeze though).

I wasn't that keen on the Garmin mount as it' s not flush with the stem and I'm still mulling over a Fizik stem thus my twin question about SLI v's SLI 2.0 and Direct v's Direct 2.0.

    Probably over thinking this....

Have I been a completely stupid and you can just flip over the mount that comes with the 520 to put the Edge lower? I've just sold it so please tell me you can't........

As a bit of an update, I just popped into Evans and saw the bigger SLI which can take the 1000. It looks really bulky and well over the top for a small computer and especially if you don't want to hang other things off the mount.
