I have all those tools but the bottom bracket looks like it screws in /out.Its similar to a pedal spanner type fitting ..crank itself actually did tap off with no force involved at all0

If you have the tools, it's just simply a matter of using them as they're dedicated tools that can't be used for anything else or in any other way. Use the crank puller to pull the crank off and use the BB tool to unscrew the BB.
Remember the BB has a reverse thread on the non-drive side and on that side, what you're unscrewing is just a bit of plastic and therefore shouldn't be in their too tightly. On the drive side, they're metal threads. When screwing the new one back in, make double sure that you have the threads lined up properly. If you start screwing and it feels too resistive, don't screw it in any further and start again. You don't get to make a mistake and re-tap the threads on the frame.
Crash, get up. Crash, get up. Crash, get up. Crash, stay down. Embrase pain.

What sort of BB though, octalink, ISIS, Powerspline, HT2, GXP etc etc etc....without knowing the advice is generic at best and downright misleading at worst!
If the cranks side has no bolt (?) then it just needs tapping out uwing a suitable weight object, you can do it with your hand but that can sting a bit sometimes.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Hi people. I am going to replace my crank as it has seen better days. Will I need to buy a new bottom bracket to fit with it or do they come with the crank.
Thanks0 -
Certainly Shimano cranksets include a BB. Never bought any other makes so don't know about them.0
