Road Tubeless - Air leaking from teh valve hole

Hey there,
Excitedly tried fitting my new Schwalbe One tubeless tyres today... and failed. I got the tyres on and got the tyre to bed in the rim ok (with the us of a CO2 cannister). But LOADS of air comes out around the valve hole. I re-taped the rim around the hole, but still had the same problem. I pierced the rim tip with a pin and then pushed the valve through.
Is there a common fix to solve this problem? Am I doing something stupid?

I don't think you're doing something stupid.
Firstly try to tighten the valve more. The rubber at the lower part should be 'pulled' into the valve hole to seal it. In 95% of the cases this will be enough. If not, than the valve and rim aren't a match. You can solve that by using another valve (I work mostly with valves cut out a inner tube), or you can an extra/wider rubber piece (which you can cut out of an old inner tube) to the valve.0 -
Thanks for the reply, but now (hopefully), the problem is solved.
I think in my naivety i'd made a mistake. I'd been running tubes on the tubeless wheels whilst waiting for the tryers to arrive. And I put more rim tape (about 30cm in length) over the valve hole. That was a mistake. I took that off, and did a full go around the wheel and it worked ok. I think by tightening up the valve it "Pulled" the rim tape and allowed air in.
I stopped putting sealant in as I fitted them (I was wasting too much) and now need to work out how to get the sealant in without unseating the tyre, need to find some sort of squirty bottle or syringe...http://www.KOWONO.com - Design-Led home furniture and accessories.0
