Wheel build advice

Looking to build myself a new rear wheel with Hope Pro 2 Evo in the middle, H Plus Son on the outside and DT spokes holding it together, PG or DB though? Is this a good combo? Looked at buying a built wheel from teh likes of Shimano/Mavic/Fulcrum but they only go to 28 spokes, want 32 ideally.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

DB.
Nobody really use PG anymore, if not for saving money... they are heavier, harsher and as far as fatigue go, they even suffer shorter lifespan. The only need for PG is for heavy loads (> 10Kg panniers), but even there triple butted are better than PG.
DT comp from Rose are the best deal around at less than 40 p each. Sapim race are good too, but the Sapim nipples clash a bit with the Archetype rims (long square section means the spoke key grinds against the edge of the V shaped rim, bit of a hassle if you don't build wheels often)left the forum March 20230 -
The only use of plain gauge is a small wheel for a Moulton where you can't buy butted spokes in the right length easily
You have moved Ugo.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -

I have moved... and even given up building wheels...
There's an online shop in Germany that sells short spoke sizes, down to 180-190 mm... they even stock CX-Ray down to 200 or so. Can't remember the link.
In theory the smaller the wheel the fewer and thinner the spokes you need... for a 16 inch wheel 12 Laser might be plentyleft the forum March 20230 -
Doing 24 for this chap on a 17 inch rim. 164mm/164mm and 170mm spokes are needed. Sapim leaders are the only one I can buy of the distributor I would rather use lasers.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Final Q:
Round up or down spoke length? DT & Wheelpro say L 288.5 & R 287.6 so 290mm & 288mm?I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

You probably want 288 and 286. The 286 side might require 14 mm nipples (DT swiss ones) in the absense of 287left the forum March 20230 -

After lacing it up three times and trying to tension without a dishing tool I dropped the wheel into the LBS after having it sat beside the sofa for two weeks. A well built wheel and the hub makes a nice LOUD noise and spins for ages once I adjusted the calliper to stop the pads rubbing.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
