Cracked frame
Evening all,
Just come to pop the mud guards on and noticed the below. What do you think is she dead?
Was away on holiday the other week and had it on the roof in a front fork carrier.
If she's gone, she's gone, has served me well over the past 4 years
Will probably pop it down the LBS is the morning to get their opinion.

Warranty, usual place just at the edge of the heat affected zone.
Manufacturer frucked up. Hit em up for a new one.0 -
Both of the above: yes, this frame is toast and yes, it is worth seeing IF the frame is covered under warranty as that does look like a manufacturing defect albeit exacerbated by poor care.0

Regardless of warranty cover, out of interest what gives you the impression the bike had been poorly cared for?0 -
Nothing to do with the way it has been treated by the owner.
Frame maker stuffed up with post weld heat treating.0 -
My sectuer cracked in exactly same place after four years replaced under spesh warranty Without question so reckon yours should be too if you have a manufacturers frame warranty. Even if you don't though worth trying Sale of Goods act argument that it's not fit for purpose.
Also puzzled as to what in the photo makes it look uncared for (it's way cleaner than mine is right now)?0 -

...because I misread the original post :oops:0 -
For reference Specialized replaced the frame no hesitation. Can't say fairer than that.0
