Anyone have experience of the 2nd generation stages? Battery problems cured?
Looking for the cheapest option to go on a winter bike (Ultegra) - not pedals or hub based.
Cheers.

  • why not pick up a cheap V1 ultegra 6700 crank £399 from merlin + quidco.

if there are issues, stages are great and i would be suprised if you got a v2 upgrade if you have repeated problems.

just mentioned it as you did say 'cheapest' option.
  • Should have said cheaper not cheapest. Too many bad reports about V1 so wouldn't consider.

now considering that 45% left is a 10% overall power reduction (output/reading) using the stages model (2xleft)...

Just consider your power measured in £ rather € - makes FA difference.

  • Except that zones aren't an exact science and have broad ranges anyway. To then worry about some balance drift is, frankly, a nonsense. There's not even any real science to the zone training either.

  • I'd recommend P2M or quarq
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
