Has anyone tried any of these and have anything good or bad to say (please no comments about "my cast iron cage cost 99p and only weighs 4g more, you may as well just tip a bit of water out...."). The Tune are the interesting ones but there is next to nothing out there on them.

Thanks for that. Have you got the white or black one and is the black matte or gloss? It's listed as matte but the stock photos look really glossy (not sure when I became such a tart).
  • I've got the black one and its matte. Holds the bottle very securely.

Have you considered a Blackburn Camber?

I bought two when they were on offer from somewhere - for around £16 each, and they are lovely and light, and hold my camelbaks perfectly well.

Not as tight as Elite ones on another bike, but I've never had any bottle movement in them at all, so can only conclude a deathlike grip is not required.

Got the older version of the Bonty ones, they work fine, never lost a bottle with them and are very light!
Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated!

Have the Bontrager RXXXL in both colours. The black is matt, but slightly glossy IMO.
Its a shame they have white writing on too if you have a stealth bike.

I was never that keen on carbon cages, but after getting the white ones cheap I was converted, and now bought the black ones for new bike.
I don't really like Bontrager stuff, and the black ones do not look quite as good on the respective bike as the white ones do, but they are just super light and lovely to use.

I cannot use Camelbaks anymore (as the lip at the top is very deep and wide), but its still worth it.
SIS bottles just go in and out so well! Its sad, but it genuinely adds to my enjoyment on a ride.
It might be the huge lip that makes them feel good to use. All the others seem to have the standard smaller retention lip.

Why not consider these, currently on sale

This is what people go to after their Elite cages start launching Camelbaks

I've used them on a couple of bikes and am not keen. They're far too tight. A lot of people love them so maybe just me though.
  • 2x PX 22g carbon cages for about £25. Excellent.

I just black out the PX lettering on my Focus....

    ^^This
  • Thanks for all the comments on the Bontragers (they're going to win by default at the moment). Has anybody tried any of the other other three?

I suppose I can't really see me going for the Focus ones just to match the bike but the Elite and the Tune sound like good options. Just wary there must be a catch with the 10g Tune ones! 10g!
