I'm not sure the best place to ask this as I'm wanting a CX bike as a road bike to replace my Trek 1.5 which is a fairly standard aluminium road bike using the Tiagra groupset, road, commuting or something else may be appropriate but I reckon this is the best place for advice on the bikes themselves.
I've been fancying the Pinnacle Arkose Four as it's a CX bike with Shimano hydraulics for around a grand:

I can't find many other options with a similar spec for the price which seems to make it quite a good buy but it's hard to find any information or feedback on it which makes me think I'm missing something. My main requirements are disc brakes and mudguard mounts (this seems to rule out quite a few bikes), I used to ride a hybrid but changed to the road bike which is lighter and faster but as the weather gets worse the road bike is not much fun so I'm thinking something like the Arkose would be a good buy. I realise discs may be overkill but I primarily ride mountain bikes and I like the consistent control the hydraulic brakes give.
