I cant decide, I have been deciding for over 2 weeks.
I wanted to buy Giant Trance 2 for a year, finally I have a good deal.
But just this week I came across Haibike ebikes, electro bike with bosch motors, that are just anotehr kind fo beasts.
I can get 2015 haibike XDURO bike new for 3000 eur, and Giant Trance 2 for 1500 eur.....
I cant decide what to buy.
Ebikes are heavy, but easy to climb. Haibike has 120 Rockshock shocks, Trance has 140 Fox shocks.
Haibike aint such a wellknown company as Giant, where eeverybody praises giant.
I cant find many review about Haibike
Also I cant transport ebike via airplane because of battery, so that is a bummer.
But I drove it and it is super easy to drive and fun.....
But it is also double price if Giant
PLEASE ADVICE QUICK!!!!

Depends whether you want a bicycle or an ebike.
One is not the same as the other.I don't do smileys.

Not sure an MTB Maniak would ask that question

Stop being lazy and buy the bike not the lazy sods ebike. Personally I think ebikes are for disabled riders that cannot pedal and I don't mean fat lazy sods either. Sorry for being judgemental.
i am 40, getting old slowly, not being 20 anymore to pedal to the top of mountain0 -

I tried the same Haibike at the Cycle show just gone and it was a laugh, but, it's for people who have some sort of impairment or disability in my opinion.

Rockshox make some great suspension and some terrible suspension. Same with Schwalbe tyres. Rockshox design their suspension to work on bikes half the weight of an e-bike.
Personally I think E-bikes have no place on mountain bike trails after following one and seeing how much damage it caused to a damp trail.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
what do you mean? it is just tires, and it weighs like 6 kilos more than MTB, so taht is nothing.....0

6Kg is a lot more. A good mountain bike is only 10-12kg. Even a downhill bike is only 16Kg.
The motors have no traction control and the wheelspin tears up damp trails, ruining them for everyone else. Let's be honest, e-bike riders aren't the sort of people to go out and maintain trails.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

haibike is 21 kilos, giant is 14 kilos, not so much difference....
wheelspin? Dude are you joking me, you have to pedal, it does not have a gas......
i dont get it.....0 -
If you want one, buy one. You don't need anyone else to justify your purchase.
It just seems that most people don't want one.I don't do smileys.

That's 50% extra weight. That's a massive difference.
Yes you do have to pedal, they still produce a lot more torque than just pedalling. They are already banned from bikepark Wales and other trail centres have mentioned they are considering it. Moab in USA banned them because of the damage they cause and other national parks are likely to do the same.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
