Hi, I have a task in school to develop a product that will provide a need. The need I have chosen to focus on is to make cyclists safer in the traffic. My idea is a bicycle helmet with built-in lights!
You have your mobile on the handlebars connected to 2 ledppanels in front and rear of the helmet, and indicators on the right and left hand side. A button on each side of the handlebars connected via the headphone jack on the phone and via the phone to the indicators on the helmet. An app is includes where you have access to different light settings GPS and speedometer. The phone's location feature is used in such a way that the brake lights at the rear of helmet activates when the speed is drastically reduced.
The equipment can be purchased separately for installation on your own helmet. Or already assembled on a helmet. This is to lower the cost and increase the individual's freedom to tailor the product to their own needs.
Its included in the task to ask a reference group of their ideas in order to improve the product.

Check out Lumos' recent Kickstarter. They have designed and produced a very thorough product with front and rear lights and indicators with a handlebar switch. I believe they exceeded their pledge target and this product is currently in the production stage.
