Morning all, but only just.
Anyone in here? I can't see as it's too foggy. Fairly dull day at work, slow wobble in through the gloom.
Hope you are all enjoying yourselves.

I assumed Monday was cancelled over there, so quiet... 11pm for me. No fog here, in fact painfully bright and sunny. Went for a walk to see this lot...

Only about 300,000 other people doing the same thing.
Dropped some tennis racquets in to the stringers. Did coffee. Home, a swim, mowed lawns, then opened the bar right around cocktail hour.Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -

Just got to get through my half year presentation to the board later this week. Busy torturing numbers until they tell me what I want to hear "I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Not the most pleasant cycle in this morning, 12 other people have applied for the role at work I am going for hmmmm, I'm not sure it is possible to find 12 people worse at stuff than me but time will tell!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

Well, when our head of department (who will have the final say) first joined the company he did walk into the changing room when I was pretty much fully nude, not sure if that will up my chances!!
I have one thing going for me, most candidates are from recruitment companies so at least hiring me will be free!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Af'noon fog monsters
@ Stevo: perhaps you should tell them what they want to hear, which leads me on to V68's comment.
In the UK 4 out of 5 managers get to their positions for the wrong reasons (Blyton & Turnbull - Dynamics of the employee relationship). If you don't believe me or them, then count the number of good managers you have worked under and all the bad one's.
Sorry to piddle on yer chips Chris.

Edit: Just had a row with the warehouse manager as he's cocked up a large order that should be going out tomorrow morning. Even though I told him all about it on Thursday, and put it in writing. I didn't know it was possible to be that incompetent but he seems to manage it.0 -

Depends on your point of view. If you want someone who will maintain the status quo of muddling through, not improving efficiency or improving product/process and creating unnecessary extra paper work, then only 1 out of 5 managers get there for the wrong reasons.
The essential attribute is a comprehensive vocabulary consisting of words and phrases like 'maximise', potential, efficiency gains, control, monitoring etc. Then come up with a plethora of bureaucratic ''efficiency measurements' guaranteed to prove your worth and to show you are actually doing something important and useful.
In every scenario, do not mention the word 'change' to the workers, only manglement.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
I'd love to see things change. Some of those good for nothing bums would get the shock of their lives if they worked in the real world. Managers just want a quiet life so do nothing.0

Strangely I came to exactly the same conclusion as you, but by reading Dilbert' cartoons."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

Sunshine up North all day
What part of up North do you live? I am 'up North' and it was foggy. It hasn't gone yet. North doesn't actually start until Cairnryan and I live 7 miles south of there, so I am actually in the South. So, I live in the South of North. Geddit?seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

The exhibition has been running annually for almost 20 years now. The success is built on the location - the walk round that piece of coastline is spectacular even without the artworks. Must be a nightmare for the curator(s) to decide what to place where, never mind the logistics of actually moving that many installations out there.Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0 -
