Hints for getting grommit back into hole?

To fit the stealth dropper on son's Canyon Nerve a few days ago, I prised out the grommit which keeps the hole into the frame under the seat post neat and tidy - it meant I was not having to force the connectamajig through the hole as I feared being too ham fisted in my first experience of fitting one of these.
Of course, now that the grommit has a nice firm hydraulic cable running through the middle of it I am struggling to get said grommit back into the frame hole.
Any tips / technique suggestions. So far brute force hasn't worked!

A bit of silicone grease or silicon spray will help the rubber bits slide.
NB: Don't use silicon sealant for this!0 -
