  • Bought my son a SJ4000 action camera and I think it's really good for the money.
  • yeah seen those ones too, £35 quid i think, only 1.5hr recording supposedly
  • i bought a cheapo SJ4000 too, does the job but quality and battery aren't great (90mins battery), also interferes with my Garmin if I have them too close.

i think it's a good starter to see if you're motivated to use one enough to get value out of it before you buy something better.

This guy does some good reviews and show sample footage / stills etc http://www.techmoan.com/ some links to his recommendations in the sidebar.
  • i see why gopro is so popular now compared to all these other brands

I started out with an SJ4000 I'd say for the money it does the job but it's no where near the quality of a GoPro or other camera at that end of the market. As above it's great starting point to see if you really want/need an action camera. I moved up to a GoPro Hero4 and I could soon see why they cost more, greater quality and more functionality.
  • Another SJ4000 owner here. I bought it a while back and only used it a handful of times. Reason being when I played it back on the PC/Laptop the video was skipping and not playing smoothly. I have a feeling this is a settings issue so I'm having another go.

Like folk have said above battery life isn't much to shout about but it's not a bad starting point to get going.
