Just bought the 2015 model, love it, but when I got it home my husband discovered cable ties fixing the cables to the down tube. It looks neat but he said for the money it's a cheap method of fixing cables. Is this normal or should I be calling my lbs back? Not too clued up on mechanics etc so please bear with me if this is a daft question!

If there are cable guides they should be used. If not cable ties are for tying cables.I don't do smileys.

No its not normal on a fairly expensive bike, they usually have the cables held in designed clips, just checked my Trek and there is not a cable tie in sight ? Go and check a display model( either at the LBS or elsewhere) and if different ''say I would like mine to look like that please''0 -

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm going to pop down to another shop and see what their treks are like and take it from there.0

The clips are rubbish. I usually replace them with cable ties. They do the job well.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
