Giant S-XC2 Wheels Upgrade - Options ??

Morning again,
Well, if I will not get my Giant S-XC2 fixed (currently leaking air on the side of the rim) it might be a good time to look for a pair of new (upgraded) wheels.
What would be my options here - 26", tubeless ready, good value for the money and upgrade from what I have ??
Any good deals at the mo ??
Should I go second hand on brand new ??
Ideally I would like to have something a bit stiffer / stronger but not too heavy !
Cheers,
Chris

As per the other post, nothing wrong with the rims, just needs new rim tape. I wouldn't call it a repair, more service.
But if you insist on spending money then what budget? They are a pretty basic (heavy) wheel so almost anything will be an improvement.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Yes, I will give it a quick refresh / service over the weekend and will see how its getting on.

C81 off that list would be a nice pair of wheels.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Thank You again Rookie.
Maybe a silly question here, but:
Is the old cassette like-for-like fit to the new wheel form the old set or do I need anything else to get it fit ??

Should just be a case of adding tubeless tape/valves and swapping tyres cassette and brake discs.
Cassette will fit no issue.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

I purchased a set of Fulcrum Red Power XLs for around £180 from a certain German website in the summer to upgrade from my Giant own brand wheels. They come in at around 1700g and have had beating so far and I'm impressed. They are not tubeless ready though and rim width is only 19mm.0

I would rather have the Giant wheels that Superstar. At least Giants hubs are better than Superstars.
If you want to change Rose Bikes have some good deals on DT swiss wheels and Hope Tech Enduro wheels are only a little over your budget.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

You do the help guys!!!!!
Well I need something which will be big improvement from what I have.
How much cheaper / more expensive would be if I was going to build them??
K.0 -
Getting them built is a lot more expensive.
The Hope wheels are cheaper than just buying the individual components, and then you need to add on £25 a wheel for labour.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I've got a set of mavic crosstrails I'm selling for £160. convertable axles, UST rim, decent weight 1650g. Only selling cause I got new wheels0

OK found something like this:
a) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stans-Crest-Z ... Track=true
or this
b) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hope-Hoops-Pr ... SwwpdW4yf8
Any good ??

Depends on use, I use the flow ex rims and like them but they are a heavier rim, the crests are narrower and lighter and intended more for XC use. As for the hubs, again I like hope hubs, however, the freehub noise isn't for everyone.0
