Could anyone tell me who to contact with regard to getting some Assos bibshorts appraised for repair/repaired?
I hope it's not Yellow as they: (a) don't respond to email (b) don't answer their phone.
TIA

Thanks for the responses. I emailed <info.UK@assos.com> and had a response within 30 mins. Just sent some pics so I'll await their response, hopefully the shorts can be repaired.
Thanks again.“Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.”0 -
Mine are out there being fixed. Quite a major slash/hole. I guess they'll put a new panel in. Been a week so far. Not expecting them much before DecemberMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Well today I received an invoice from TNT for £19.46 saying this is for duty and taxes on the returned repaired shorts which I got a week ago. Anyone else had this following a repair? I was assuming there would be nothing to pay as I have not bought anything!0

From HMRC
You don’t pay VAT or Customs Duty when your things are sent back to you – they must be described as ‘personal belongings’ on the customs declaration.
Sounds like an issue at Assos's end. Just tell TNT to stick it.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Thanks for that, that's what I was thinking. Hopefully it's just some kind of mistake!0

The other oddity is, as I understood it, Austria is an EU state so there should be no duty in any event? My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I have a feeling Assos are not doing so well these days as the competition is hotting up in all areas. The crash repair was always one of the big plusses of buying Assos.
if that is now time limited to a year, then for me, it is time to start looking elsewhere. They are shooting themselves in the foot.0 -
Since they were bought out, Assos quality and service has deteriorated. Rather than raise their game, other manufacturers can just wait for Assos to drop to their level!0

Come on guys, how long do we suggest? It's not terrible. FWIW, they fixed mine within a week last October. I'm not sure it's gone downhill that much!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I had just had some kit returned for Assos repair, an S7 long sleeve and a pair of non padded bib tights.
The S7 the zip was faulty, and the bib tights were for ash damaged. Both of these were older than a year.
I emailed them asking if I could have them repaired, I received a reply within 24 hours asking me to fill in a return form and also asking for proof of purchase, I told them that I didn't have proof of purchase as they were a gift.
I was given a return no and address to send them to, both were returned repaired with in 4 days from posting.
It only cemented the reason why I will only ever wear Assos kit.Building:

Just before Christmas '15 I was felled by a charging calf ripping an Assos Sturmprinz jacket and an Assos tiBuru top, both of which I have had for a few years.
I contacted Assos repair stating that they were a gift and that I had no proof of purchase.
They were returned to the UK within 5 days.
The tiBuru was given a completely new sleeve (nice as it had already had a bad snag in it from a bramble incident).
The Sturmprinz had a strip of Triton put into the sleeve (it now has an Rapha armband).
Top service!
Previously, I have had a few other garments repaired with the same quality of service.
I once sent back a pair of Assos T FI.13 S5 bibs. I was told that they were too worn to warrant repairing, which, was actually fair enough. However, they offered me a 30% discount on a replacement new pair, which I accepted.
I asked if I could have mediums rather than the large I had sent them. They said yes, but sent me large ones anyway. I let them know this; they apologised, paid for their return, and asked my shoe size.
I received a new pair of mediums, and with them a couple of free pairs of socks, and a rather nice Assos branded Moleskin notepad, because of their mistake with the sizing.0 -
Yeah. They gave my Mille shorts a rapha stripe. Superb repair. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Well if you guys are telling me that they have recently repaired kit like before with no proof of purchase etc. then fair enough. But why change the wording on the website?
At the latest count, I have 20 separate pieces of Assos equipment, most of it now over a year old. If they tried to fob me off with saying hard luck, your kit is over one year old I would be a bit miffed to put it slightly. After all, I am probably one of their best customers.0 -
You should be fine mun. I reckon they'll agree to fix my Rally Jersey for the next 50 years. Not that it's breakable. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Interesting reading these recent replies. I've just worn a hole in a pair of t.tiburu shorts on a nasty wet ride where something clearly rubbed. I've emailed them and they come back asking for pics which I've sent. Only had them 11 months. Hopeful now having read above. Shorts are only 3000 miles old and pretty much perfect other than this rub hole2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium

In the past I have just sent direct to Switzerland with a letter and they have repaired fine.0

Managed to put a small hole in a pair of bib shorts that I have due to a badly located saddle pack securing strap, disappointed to be told by Assos that they will only undertake "accident" repairs and not damage caused by "pilling".
They have offered 50% off another pair, will have a think.0
