"Flandrian style" winter caps

Bought one of these last winter, and it sort of does the job but feels like I'm wearing a bean bag on my head (no idea, guessing there's some sort of loose insulating material between the layers) and the ear flaps don't fully cover which is annoying.

Does anyone use something similar they'd recommend please? Mainly want something windproof, warm and full coverage round the ears but struggling to find options, have seen a few online but no way of trying on....

Prendas do a nice one.0

Rapha. One of my favourite bits of kit.0

Cheers both, Prendas option ordered, will give that a try and hopefully like it. If it doesn't work I'll have to bite the bullet and splash out on the Rapha!0

+1
The Rapha one is the single best piece of kit I have ever bought - the way it looks & feels as much as the way it performs. Before that I used to struggle with various hats with and without ear warmers and always had problems with earlobes popping out and getting cold, or a cold nape. The Rapha hat just does everything perfectly.

Quite light, but I find it warm enough.0 -
I have the Prendas hat and sadly it's never been worn on the bike.
If I did wear it I'd need to cycle nudey to stop myself from overheating.
-5 just isn't cold enough for that quality bit of kit.
Although sat at football on a January evening it's perfect.0 -

I have both the Rapha blue one pictured above and the Rapha Pro Team linked above on eBay (in the shocking green!). Both fantastic items.
I actually wear the blue one when I am not out on my bike, it's a bloody good warm winter hat! It is probably too warm for going hard on the bike. It's okay commuting and doing base miles, but if you get lairy on the hills and stuff, it's a bit too sweaty for my liking.
The Pro Team breathes really well and the way the ear flaps wraps around your ears is lovely. It's much better for riding hard in I find. Being thinner, it's also a bit more comfortable under your helmet if you use one.
Both great hats though! I use them both throughout the winter months.0 -

Cheers. Bargain for 20 quid. Ordered one!0 -
Damn, gutted I missed that eBay link earlier! Will just have to pay full whack for a Black Pro Team one, don't really mind given how impressed I have been with the standard one, and how much use I have got out of it.0

I have the blue Rapha and it is a cracking hat but like you I found myself running too hot. I use it for going the football in now.
Brought the Pro Team from E-bay and that is going to be my go to hat in the winter months. Cracking hat for £20. Thanks for the heads up.0 -
+1 for the Prendas hat. Very useful in the cold of deep winter.0

Do the Rapha hats fit under a cycling helmet?0

Do the Rapha hats fit under a cycling helmet?
That depends on how tight your helmet fits.0 -
So that's a yes then, cheers need something to keep my ears warm when it gets really cold.0

The pro team hat has arrived. Not as thick and warm as the winter cap imo. It will be perfect for those 5-10 degree rides.0
