Garmin mount problem

Whilst out fior a ride my Garmin 800 head unit become disconnected from the SRAM out in front mount holding it. First thought was that the mount had worn out as it has been wobbly for a bit, but having checked it when I got home the mount is fine, but the lugs on the back of the head unit have worn away.
Have checked it in the mount on my other bike which is nearly new so know it's not the mount.
Any suggestions on how I can securely attach it. My thoughts are using some silicon sealant to make it sit in the mount more snugly. Failing that I could resort to sticking it to the mount, but would rather avoid doing this if I can.
