Stans No Tubes & Cheaper Tyres

Hi All.
Does Stans work OK with cheaper tyres, I run Conti Protection on my main bike, but my run around I usually run cheaper tyres I bought some Conti Mountain Kings when I first started last year pleased with the grip, but punctures were unbelievable, slight sniff of a thorn and down they went, so I took them off as I was feed up with fixing punctures, it hedge thrashing time over my way so I don't want to go down that route again.
So does any one have any experiences good or bad with the cheaper end ?

Folding MK's will be fine, steel beaded won't.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Cheers for the reply, they are wire bead so I will give them a miss.0 -
you might find the sealant just pisses out the side walls in the non protection contis0

I've found non tubeless ready Maxxis tyres seal pretty well but Schwalbe tend to have very porous sidewallsYT Wicked 160 ltd

Schwalbe (some) do have porous sidewalls, but I just set them at 20psi and hold them flat and swirl the sealant round, seals them in seconds.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I have Performance Schwalbe Racing Ralphs on my spare wheels, the seated and sealed really quickly, not noticed and sealant on the out side of the tyres, but it does sometimes look like they are sweating clear droplets on them, thought my shed roof was leaking to start with, would this be something to do with the sealant ?0 -
Yup, you get little 'blisters' of sealant on the outside.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
