Looks like you've already made your decision but if you wanted to test ride a Radon Slide (18") I'm in Leicester. I was pondering over the exact same bikes as yourself a few months back and went with the Radon..It matters not, win or lose, it's how you ride the bike0

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. I haven't ruled out a Slide but being on a long-ish bike, I might find the top tube a bit short. How are you finding it - you got a cracking deal.

Not a clue? This is different a Monarch plus, right?
See that sram do a debonair upgrade.
My Scout came with a Monarch RCT3 with Debonair can as standard. It makes quite a difference. The Monarch Plus is a different shock, aimed at big enduro bikes.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Yeah, the latest Fox 34 doesn't have CTD.
Perhaps they've not finalised the options on these across 1,2,3 as you'd expect the latest 34 talas. Looking at the 2016 Uncle Jimbo the options are the Pike RCT3 or the 36 Talas.
Is there much in it between RC Solo Air and the RCT3? Coming from an older dual air rlt Revs and there adjustability.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

I have the Yeti Sb6c and the system is nothing like the Canyon's. Not even close0

You would hope it is a lot better (and more reliable) for the extra costTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Any thoughts on RC solo air and rct3?
https://www.sram.com/rockshox/products/pike-rct3
rct3 has the charger damper with adjustable External rebound, low speed compression, 3-position compression (Open/Pedal/Lock).
rc pike has the charger damper with adjustable External rebound, low speed compression to 'Lock'.
I’ve had a look and rose has updated there site for 2016 , the granite chief 2 looks rather good spec for price n sram guide rsc brake upgrade option.0 -

So not much in it then, open/pedal/lock switch aside, it'll give the same performance.
Yes it's updated for 2016 but I think I'd go option 1 but configure it to full XT groupo, 1501 wheels, Next bars and Atlas stem. I would also need them to offer me 1x11 as I don't want a front derailleur - but 1x isn't an option on 2016's it seems - bit odd.
I like the Jimbo but perhaps it's a bit more "Enduro" than I need.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

The 2015 frame option is still available and I had a play with the options and you could configure the bike with 1x 11 groupset.
I also had a look at the ground patrol, 27.5 wheels 130mm travel looks more ideal for what I want actually as I don't think I would benefit from having loads of suspension travel.0 -
Yep but I'll be going for the 2016, not there's much of a difference, and likely the Granite Chief but I'll demo that and an Uncle Jimbo.
Ground control looks tidy but the Whyte T130 deserves a look in.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

I've had a Capra AL1 for a couple of months now and it's great. Deals with the Peak District trails brilliantly both up and down.

Thanks. Read the review a couple of times, linked to in the "Enduro, bashing the Capra" thread on STW - ludicrous by the way - and it was considered. My friend has the top end Capra with the BoS and saw it on Sunday. Cracking bike, he likes it, but wasnt impressed with losing it for 10 weeks when the BoS suspension had a fault and needed to be returned via YT.
They do look great.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

Nice, looked already, and it's not quite doing it for me. However, friend of mine had the same on hire and he really liked it. I'd like to have a go on one. He did say that the shock position would be a worry as where we ride it gets very sandy, gritty and muddy and could see it needing a lot of attention - he could be wrong.
My intention is to get the spec bang on as getting approval to add parts after will be tough :PFamily, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

They have pretty effective mud guards on all on them, I ride in all types of rubbish and my dune is clear down below and the upside of that shock position is an extremely low weight centre, making the bike feel really stable!0 -
That's interesting owner feedback. My mate who had one for a day and loved it, ruled it out based on shock position susceptibility to crap. However, he does commute most days and this would be one of the bikes he uses (not every time though). He might need to put the Foxy back in with the pot with Whyte and Cannondale.
I like them, but demo'ing aside (which is what counts of course), I'm very keen on the Granite Chief. My spec is coming in around €3k.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there
