Where to sell a new frameset

Ebay is too expensive, but where do I sell a brand new bike frameset then? It's a warranty replacement, but I am after something different.

I did look at the Classifieds here, but it only seems to be for second hand stuff.

Any ideas?

But it is second hand? Despite it being a warranty exchange, unless you're going to offer the same guarantees as a dealer in a direct sale, you won't get the new value.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

If you are looking for somewhere to sell to get all your money back from the original purchase then you will be disappointed. As philthy3 says, even though its a warranty replacement the warranty which comes with that (if there is one) will be solely for you - the original buyer. Unfortunately this makes it a gamble for anyone buying the frame.

I would try Ebay as at least there is protection of some type through paypal for the buyer - which might tempt them in to paying that bit more for it.

    Good luck with the sale.
  • Thanks for the comments.

I am not trying to get the full retail value, just a reasonable contribution to the n +1.

Interestingly, I have confirmation from the manufacturer that the full warranty is valid.
  • You could try these guys:

I sold a Cervelo to them when there were no takers on here and I couldn't face ebay. It would be interesting to know what actually sells on here as it seems Garmin sensors sell like hot cakes but expensive stuff (even at a great price) doesn't seem to move (in my very limited experience).

Nothing to lose by sticking it on here to see what interest you get, and if you find a buyer you avoid the Ebay fees.

On the other hand, people sometimes do pay over the odds for stuff on Ebay
  • wait until early summer then punt it out on ebay.
I always buy parts on the BR classifieds but sell on ebay; even with the fees you'll get a better return.
I often get more for used parts on ebay than they sell for new on Ribble or Wiggle.
