And why?
Someone at work was just telling me the plot to a kids animated film.
A vampire father wants his daughter to stay at home so he builds a fake village and invites zombies into it which they set on fire.
When I was a kid any gruesome horror scared the life out of me - I had to close my eyes when watching Jaws and couldn't sleep for weeks after.
But now this kind of thing is standard stuff for kids formative years. Where are we going and why?

Do you remember that conversation you had with yourself when a teenager?
The one when you said you would be different to your mum and dad.
The one where you vowed that you would never look back at things and say things were better and fairer and people were nicer and you would be your own person.
Do you remember that conversation?
Yeah! Thought so!!
Congratulations!!!
You've just turned into your parents, you thought it would never happen to you but it happens to us all, welcome aboard!0 -

I'm guessing this is Hotel Transylvania 1 or 2.
Trust me, it's no Jaws. Hell, it's no Sid's room from Toy Story. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Jaws was rated as an "A" for a reason.
What's the new film rated at?
That should give a clue.
For comparison, just think of the plot to most children's tales. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

It's a U.
Someone is reading too much into the plot and should stick to Disney.
But don't they have moments of peril and even death? The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

20+ years later and there is still a part of me that isnt over Mufasa...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I watched Return of the body snatchers in 80 something at the age of 14 and christ I was petrified for weeks.
Dunno why I mentioned that, it's not a kids film after all.
My mother recollected the scene in the Sleeping Beauty where the Prince hacks through the thorns and thicket to save her from the evil witch when she was 5 and it left an indelible and negative impression on her. It is surprising what frightens small children and what doesn't. Though I am with the OP.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
I'm sure I've seen worse looking women in a Glasgow nightclub."The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0
