Tyres - thoughts on WTB Trail Boss/ Beeline for UK trails

I’ve recently bought a Whyte T130S – love the bike but not so sure the tyres are right for what I’m riding. It comes with WTB Trail Boss 27.5x2.25 (http://www.wtb.com/products/trailboss) up front and WTB Beeline 27.5x2.2 at the back (http://www.wtb.com/products/beeline). So far I’ve been round Glentress and Whinlatter, and a few times I’ve felt the back end sliding out a bit – not sure it’s grippy enough when the trails get softer/ wetter, and I’m likely to be riding on softer/ muddier ground at some local forests in the coming weeks.
Thoughts are:
A – get a Minion for the front and stick the Trail Boss on the back
B – change both to a Minion/ Ardent combo
C – stick with what I’ve got and improve my bike control…
Any thoughts from people with experience of the WTB tyres? And if you recommend Maxxis – what flavour should I get? The various compounds/ tech/ bead/ size options don’t mean a huge amount to me…
Thanks.
