I'm trying to get to grips with building a bike. Specifically, a 07 Santa Cruz Heckler. I'm mainly doing this as a lesson for myself, but also with the intention of using the bike later. Anyway, I already have most of the core components - forks, gear mech, rims etc. However....I'm a little confused about what size / type of rotor I need to buy. I've fitted hayes brakes so far - levers and calipers.

Any help, greatly appreciated:)

Whatever rotors fit your wheels (six bolt or centrelock) in whatever size your adapters are.

The usual size to go for are 180mm front and 160 or 180 at the rear.

Downhill bikes are usually 203 at front and back.

You'll need adapters if your putting a 180mm disc on the bike and will be either IS or post mount.

He said he's already fitted the calipers, hence whatever rotors will fit whatever is already fitted.

Yeah, calipers are fitted already. It seems like I've completed most of the difficult stuff, but then become stuck at the last post. Thanks for the help :D
