Assos Bonka Jacket

Does anyone or has anyone got any experience of this jacket as am not sure how warm it will be? I tend to ride fairly cool so look to have something slightly warmer on and also tend to do between 3 and 4 hr rides throughout the winter, so am looking for a warm jacket. I have tried the Rapha Pro Team Jacket and really like this but it tends to be a little too cool on me when the temperature drops below 6 or 7 degrees.

Also the Pro Team Jacket fits like a glove, never tried the Bonka so not sure of the fit.

Any views?

Thanks

I have both. The Bonka is much warmer and suitable for very cold days. I wear mine on the coldest of days with just a base layer. They Bonka also fits like a glove, there are two fits, a race fit and a looser fit. I'd make sure I try it on first as its a significant purchase.
They are both fantastic jackets, you could get away with just the Pro Team if you add an extra layer on the cold days. Rapha knock off a fair whack in their sale, I have rarely seen the Bonka discounted to any great extent.

I bought a bonka during the summer (£225 last in small and red @ Sigma)and I'm looking forward to many zone 2 rides over winter where I don't expect to run hot. The temperature range Assos provide is usually spot on so I'm relaxed

Build quality is superb and fit in small Mille for a 37" inch chest is spot on. I bought a S7 jersey and if the bonka performs in a similar way I'll be chuffed.

  • It's mega warm. If you can get it for cheap, get it. If you are paying anywhere near RRP, get the Castelli Alpha instead.

I've done a couple of pre dawn rides in my Z2 at 4-6 degrees and found myself at the right temperature throughout the ride
