Riis buying Tinkoff team back??
Read a few reports this week suggesting Riis is in negotiations with Tinkoff to buy the team back.
He apparently has the backing of Saxo Bank & the funds available.

Tinkoff has been exceptionally quiet (for him) on the topic. If there was no truth in the stories he would surely have had his say on twitter by now.
If it does happen i wonder why Tinkoff is selling up. What happened to his claim that he will make them the greatest team in the world??

It's a rich man's plaything for him.
Plus he's a tool.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
What happened to his claim that he will make them the greatest team in the world??
He spunked 12 million Euro on a bunch of second places.
The worlds doesn't count.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

the worlds does count, but more for next year, the amount of added exposure the teams gets from having a world champ is worth so much more than if sagan had changed a few of those 2nd places for wins but not won the worlds0 -

Well, to be fair, they have won GT's under his ownership.
I think it will be a real shame if he leaves for comedy value alone - he can be a right tool but at least he provides some entertainment.
If Riis does return, i wonder how the UCI (Cookson) will respond.0 -
Would have been interesting to hear FF's analysis of this and how it might work for Alberto Contador.0

Not sure what difference it could make for Bert. Its his last season, he's focusing on the Tour and the Vuelta as his last GTs before retirement. He might win the Vuelta again - but then he won it last year without Riis. As for the Tour, he still has to get the better of Froome and Quintana, and given that his last Tour win was 6 years ago, for 5 of which Riis was around....0 -
