In memory..........

So one of my fondest memories of childhood, is me and my bro waking on Christmas morning to a brand new shiny Raleigh Burner BMX. I had the blue and white one and he got the red. Then throughout my days as a youngster I always had a Raleigh. Maybe they were always cheap??????
So, when I convince my wife that another bike is a good idea, I want to buy an old style classic looking road bike to toot about with the kids etc. I want to buy a Raleigh road bike manufactured the year I was born 1983. I also like the old Raleigh team colours Blue, white, with a red and yellow stripe.
Any suggestions, and is it possible with a budget of £400?

Same! I had this one http://dtrcartwright.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Burner/Mk%20I%20Tuff%20Burner.jpg can't remember how old I was at the time.
I rode it around for ages, then as I got a bit big for it and my friends didn't ride as much I sort of lost interest and it ended up lying around for a year. I had a brief time when I rode it again after that but I was far too big for it at that point - then it got stolen out of the garage.
Asked my Mam&Dad if I could have a new bike for next Christmas and they said no because they thought I might lose interest in it again - to be fair looking back chances are they just couldn't afford it.
So there was no cycling for me from about 8 years old until I had enough to get my own bike when I was 18!0 -
