hello, looking at kitbags(planning what to suggest to the o/h for xmas). i have looked before but there seems a bit of a void when it comes to kitbags or at least decent write ups for any. so really looking for some suggestions. i guess i am looking for something i can put everything in…including at least a couple of bottles and could do with wet and dry compartments. cheers in advance

My other half bought me a Ventoux Event Bag a few years back and it’s done a great job. It’s been chucked about planes, trains and automobiles and you can cram all you need for a race/sportive, long weekend, even a week’s worth of kit inside including bottles (in internal cool compartments), helmet, shoes, casual clothes, wet/muddy clothes, tools - the lot. It’s worth considering:

The Rapha Team Sky bag looked well funky. And ridiculously overpriced. But its now a bargain £75.
I was thinking of getting it - but i have dozens of other bags anyway - and i can convert any compartment to a wet one using a bin bag. ;-)0 -
I've got a wet and dry kit bag it couldn't be more simple, waterproof, sturdy, packs away into a small area when not in use and comes in various sizes. There are no bells and whistles but if you need something to carry stuff this is the answer. North Face do the same but they cost more:

had a look at climbing holdalls don't really like them, although can see how some would. the venteux is more interesting, i had come across that before and forgot about it. it could be the one.enigma esprit

Another vote for Vontoux, I wouldn't recommend anything else for the purpose. Had they not been on holiday the last couple of weeks I would have bought the bigger wheel case for a trip next week.
Really great quality bag that's been used for far more than just cycling trips.0 -

Another vote for Ventoux - amazing bag, loads of compartments, great quality0 -
One more vote for the cargo duffel type bag suggested by Wheely123 but I would say go for The North Face version (only because there what I have experience of - I have no reason to believe that Mountain Equipment are any better or worse). I have got a three different sizes depending on what length or sort of trip I am doing, the smallest being aircraft cabin compatible - mine have been generally mistreated during a lot of travel over the years and, in terms of their structural integrity, they are as good as new but cosmetically look a bit tatty (which I prefer anyway - shiny luggage is a magnet for undesirables!). An additional bonus is that they all come with rucksack straps which give you lots of options on how to carry them.Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra

I can thoroughly recommend Ogio Endurance bags. I have an 8.0 and it is the absolute business. Everything I wanted + loads of stuff I didn't realise I wanted + good helmet storage.
