Giant or KTM

Hi,

I'm looking at getting either a Giant TCV Advanced 1

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/tcr.advanced.1/24955/90502/#specifications

Or a KTM KTRevelator 4000

http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/reviews/road-bikes/ktm-revelator-4000

I can get both for £1,250.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are? I am new to road biking, although mountainbike a lot and gym a fair amount, which are my primary means of exercise, so the road bike is used maybe once, occasionally twice a week. I tend to go out on it when the weathers crappy and off roading is less pleasant or the woods a no go after harsher weather. I won't be upgrading the bike as I have a mountainbike I spend my money on and a TVR which sucks me financially dry every so often.

Both seem to have good spec's. The KTM is less well known for me, and maybe re-sale more of an issue?

I think the KTM has a 5 year frame warranty whereas the giant is lifetime plus the Giant is from my local bike shop, who already look after me with deals on other things etc. A quandry...

Thanks for your help in advance.
Bike: Yeti SB5C
Car TVR Sagaris and TVR T350

  • Head may say Giant , but I`d have the KTM

I really wouldn`t listen to me too much though, I have a real dislike for Giant bikes, I`ve yet to see one I like, and view them as the ford mondeos of the bike world. Probably undeserved, but hey ho, we can`t all like the same things.
Trek,,,, too cool for school ,, apparently

A no brainer really, especially if the lbs are already looking after you. Don't buy if you genuinely don't like the Giant or the lbs stocks other alternatives you like. Giant are well made and designed bikes, hence why they are very common. The comparison to the Mondeo to me is actually a compliment - both the bike and car have been award winners and the "best in their class".
