Hi guys,
I've got about £700 (closer to £500 the better though) to spend on a hardtail mountain bike.
I know i'm being fussy, but I'd really like it to be from one of the 'classic' brands (cannondale, marin, specialized etc).
Are there any no-brainers out there?
I guess something like
http://www.cannondale.com/nam_en/2016/bikes/mountain/sport-hardtails/trail/trail-137)
or
http://www.marinbikes.com/gb/bikes/description/2016-bobcat-trail-9.5

I don't see why you would want to spend more on a lower spec bike just for the name?
Decathlon rock rider would be a good shout.0 -
Big brand bikes are terrible at this sort of budget, they only make sense at £1500+Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Yikes! £1500 is certainly way out of budget!
The rockrider looked like a bargain at £340, but seems its out of stock in large0 -
You would have to spend £600+ on a big brand bike to match that RockriderTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

They also have a lot of rubbish which never sold because it was either crap or really overpriced to start with.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
