Got Vittoria Voyager Hypers 700c 37's fitted to my Cube 29er for commuting.
It rolls very well and and is good on the road.
but it looks bloody awful to me, some may not be bothered by it.
So have been looking at the schwalbe Balloon's, the Big Apple/Big Ben in a 700c 50 (28-2.0)
what are peoples experiences of them?

Big Apple are fastish comfy urban tyres but the aero drag will be a lot higher than your 37mm at any sort of speed.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I tried some city jets on my mtb for riding to work and couldn't get on with them due to the harshness of the ride even fiddling with tyre pressures.
I know what you mean they look silly on wide rims.
I ended up with some continental race kings on in 2.0 size which was comfy but still quick on tarmac with the bonus of still being grippy on canal towpath that I use to ride in and from work.0 -
Does it really matter what tyres look like? Do you want to look at your bike or ride it?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
