Flying into Bristol this afternoon to do some house hunting around Malmesbury - hopefully get something sorted. Heading back on Sunday.
Planning to visit the Heritage store - any hints or tips as to when is best to go there to avoid the hoards in the retail village?

Just on this topic, I wonder if the people who rent their properties through estate agents realise just how terrible they are. On average it takes three or four attempts to make contact in order to get any response - if you don't speak to the right person directly, you've no hope of getting a response and, even then, that's only the beginning. It seems little wonder to me that nothing but the very best stuff moves very quickly. It's rather frustrating for me too.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

I tend to agree. I would add that outside London they are also extremely racist. I left messages and nobody called me back... my wife (British name) got called back within minutes from the same estate agents on the same day... I felt humiliated and enraged... I wanted to kick them in teeth so hard until they bled...
I didn't, obviously... :roll:left the forum March 20230 -
Well I arrived, through total serendipity, as they were opening the doors of the shop. Was tempted by the GT Shoes which felt OK in 45.5 but would like to have tried 45 to confirm the sizing. Bought son the city rain jacket that I already have because it's so good. And me a t-shirt.
Home hunting has gone well. The two places I persevered with have turned out well - I'd choose either one. Have offered on one but could live with the other too.
It's good to physically see the roads I'd commute on too. It's pretty flat south of Malmesbury but, up towards Stroud, there's some proper slopes that you possibly wouldn't want on your commute - not only because they're 20% gradients but because of the cars you'd be sharing them with too.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

I was in Stroud at the weekend, for the Giffords Circus. There are some lovely villages round there, and some serious hills!0 -
Here you go .. a few hills: https://www.strava.com/routes/22666830

Yeah - the hills round there look reasonably challenging. I was in Gloucestershire for a festival earlier this year (2000 Trees - it was sh1te) and just the ones I could see from the train were savage looking. Not sure I'd want any of them on my commute - the col du Broomfield is as grim as mine get since leaving 'oop north'Fat chopper. Some racing. Some testing. Some crashing.

I rarely venture over that way but did for a couple of rides one of them being an Evans event and as your strava ride shows nothing to long but plenty of very steep digs, I particularly remember one that seem to go straight to +20%Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

Definitely some 20% hills around there - but quite busy with cars.
My place is near Gt Somerford and is pretty flat to Malmesbury. About 8 miles with the quieter route (6.5 miles more direct by car). Very happy.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0
