Mounting Lights Under the Stem

Hi.
I've got a Btwin 500SE with a 130cm stem, and I'm currently fully loaded with space up front - a garmin edge 705 sat on top of the stem, mounted far back, and a Cateye nanoshot+ & btwin's "legal" light/reflector taking up the little space I do have on the handlebars that's not covered in tape, but I'm hitting the nanoshot when I sit fully upright and bring my hands onto the bars.
However, I'd like to move the nanoshot+ to fit directly under the stem, giving me a bit more hand space up front as I'm clipping it occasionally, but I can't find a suitable way of doing it that's not buying a cockpit extender or riser bar mount.
Has anyone done similar with a cateye, or other light, other than rubber banding it on? Any "official" cateye mount using the normal light mount will likely end up mounting the nanoshot upside down, which I can't imagine is a great idea either.
Does any manufacturer specifically make any lights to mount under the stem?
Thanks.

I use one of these. Keeps my handlebars free of clutter. I have it under the stem, the pictures on the link show it above which looks terrible!0 -
I've had good results with strips of mtb innertube on single cell lights, but that nano might be a bit too chunky to make work0

I dont think upside down would be too much of a problem you know. I'd go with that first. Or take off the reflector.0

Another option is a Garmin Combo out front mount with a 705 adapter, on the Go Pro style mount underneath the Garmin a RacewareDirect Exposure mount for the Cateye inverted.

That looks interesting, but involves buying more stuff - not sure I can get that past HWMBO.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

This sounds like a good solution, but I don't see how you would mount the Cateye Nanoshot with the Exposure mount.
Are there any good lights that use an integrated GoPro-style mount that could be used with this directly? K-Edge also make a similar Garmin-GoPro combo mount, a little more expensive (can be found for £40) but looks like a much more refined product.
I've no experience of RacewareDirect so don't want to lay into them, but I'm not sure I'd trust 3D printed nylon to hold several hundred of pounds of electronics over rough terrain!0 -

Helps if I had used the right link

The mount is available seperately to the bracket, I've got one of these and a Superstar bracket for my Exposure Sirius.

Similar to a previous respondant, I have one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LUIPY2U?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Works a treat.0 -
I found a mount (I think on a Japanese website) which mounted n place of a headset spacer ring, putting the lamp below the stem. Works a treat, both not taking up space on the handlebars and also shielding me from any upward glare from the lamp. They use their cars as shopping baskets; they use their cars as overcoats.0

Is that from RecMounts?
It seems that the availability of most of their products is pretty poor in the UK. I was looked at one of their CatEye-GoPro adaptors and the only place that I could actually purchase it from was an importer on Amazon for £12. Pretty outrageous for a tiny piece of plastic, so I'm looking at other options atm.
I still don't see how redvee's solution would work for the OP's Cateye light, if you have an Exposure light then great, but I'd rather not change lights as well.0 -
Thanks for all the recommendations here.
In the end I've mcguivvered it with using inner tube, zip ties and stryofoam.
The stem goes through both the inner tube pieces, with one inner tube inside the other. 2 zip ties , 1 fore , 1 aft.
The handles had to come off to fit it.
Aft zip tie holds both inner tubes in place, fore zip tie holds the inner inner tube & light against the aft zip tie, and outer inner tube holds the light in place, slightly lipped over the front of the light. Seems very tight, and with the extra inner tube around the stem, protects the stem from scratches etc.
40 miles / 2 days later, and it's seems to hold it in place well, had alittle bit of rotation, but no fore/aft transition.
I'll grab a picture later.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Is the little Gopro bracket a part of the light, or something you bought separately to attach to the light? And if the latter, where did you get it?Specialized Roubaix Elite 2015

Have a read of this thread http://forums.mtbr.com/lights-night-riding/gopro-light-adapter-fins-additional-heatsinking-958312.html
It arrived from the states within a week and he modified it for my light at no extra cost.
Here is a link to his website aswell http://www.pacifier.com/~kevinb/index.html
