Hi,
I just noticed, after every ride, my reading on my Garmin 705 states my avg rpm is between 74-85rpm. Apparently when ever i sync it to Garmin Connect Online, it suddenly changes to Avg of 60rpm. Can anyone help me why this happens? I would like my device to be as accurate as possible to be able to tailor my training properly.
Thanks

I'd try uploading the ride into another website such as Strava and see what it thinks the cadence is.
If your sensor connected correctly? I'm wondering if it is dropping out occasionally and therefore recording lots of zero or null values. And then your Edge and their site are handles these zero/null values differently when computing the average.0 -
Is it Possible the gps doesn't take freewheeling into account, but garmin connect does? There may be a setting to enable/disable this? Just a thoughtif it ain't rainin.....it ain't trainin
Stick your 'rules' up your a%se0 -
Connect should be removing zero values from the average, but it sounds like it isn't for some reason. My Strava and Connect are generally within 1 or 2 rpm of each other, and this is the same as what the Garmin (810) says at the end of the ride, so I can't really say why.
They do seem to deal slightly differently with spikes - Connect still includes the random 200rpm spikes (usually where I've had the pedals level on a descent and the magnet on the crank has been next to the sensor), but Strava seems to discount these. But as I said the numbers are generally more or less the same.0
