  • I had BioPace in 1988.

    I don't see how anything that makes you work harder for more of the rotation really helps because we are limited by our aerobic capacity, and so the ability to output work faster cannot help unless it is more efficient somehow.

    In any case, I have read up on them recently and so far cannot find any testing that proves that they are an advantage.

    with biopace didn't they limit you in the powerphase of your pedal stroke and all the angles were wrong so you actually became less efficient?
  • Biopace doesn't make sense, but even if Osymetric's design is based on a superior logic, all they have managed to prove is that whilst it may not make complete sense to make the chainring round, there's no particular performance advantage in making it a different shape either.
  • Nautilus based their company off using cam shapes.
