How about a paint finish which means you don't need to cover the bike in helicopter tape?

A paint mixed with nano tech to repel mud and water but the paint includes carbon nanotubes making it much more stronger.

An option I would tick and pay more for.

Or parts of the frame that are subject to "damage" chainstay under the BB, downtube etc they have a clear plasti dip.
