Old Roadie Buys MTB

Hi All, I'm an old Roadie (58), just purchased my first mountain Bike after doing a couple of Trails on my Hybrid. I wish I had bought one earlier in life.. I have a Giant Talon 4, just back from a 50 miler on the Trans Pennine Trail, Lymm to Southport.
I would like to learn to ride my MTB as it should be ridden, can anyone give me a name of a local school or Group who is willing to show an old Manchester roadie the skills required... also any local easy runs..
Big Thanks
Paul

I've been riding there on and off for years and never had a really bad day out there, and there's a good bike shop / cafe as well.
One mans battle with mediocrity and his declining physical powers.........

Llandegla is a bit boring for more experienced riders but it would be ideal for a beginner. Even the black trail is really easy and flowing.
