Looks like Garmin might finally have some serious competition.

It looks OK but nothing new, doesnt seem to do anything garmin doesnt already do? Unless im missing its usp?

pretty expensive too.

I think the main feature is it being more closely tied to your smartphone via an app where you can change the settings on the device from the app, rather than fiddly menus on the computer itself. At least, that's the impression I get.

Still; even if it does everything the same as Garmin competition for them is healthy.

yeah I agree, they do seem to have cornered the market which make innovation and research less of a priority so competition is good.

Just not sure this will be the device to challenge.

Why no one has employed the guy from DC Rainmaker to develop bike computers is anyone's guess!

Whilst it doesn't do anything really any different than an 810/1000 (although the mapping is in black and white and not colour; good or bad?) if it doesn't suffer the same firmware issues Garmin devices do every time they do an upgrade, it will surely be a winner. Cheaper than the 1000 too with the additional functions of the 1000 set to be included it seems.
