Shimano historians: can you ID these shifters?
Can anyone positively ID these shifters. I bought them in good faith that they were Ultegra and that they were 9 speed triples.
Having fitted them to my bike in conjunction with my 9 speed triple, 9 speed cassette, it turns out they are 10 speed triples, which is a bit of a nuisance as the indexing is poor on the 9 speed cassette.
Also, are they Ultegra or just fitted with an Ultegra badge?

Look like 6603 ultegra 10 sp to me. Peel back each hood and the model no is moulded into the plastic body0

Thanks for the info - indeed ID number found once I'd pulled back the hoods and looked properly!
ST6600 for the right and ST6603 for the left.
And thanks for the link to Shimano - nice exploded diagrams of said shifters!0 -
if you fit a 10 speed cassette you should be good to go - rear mech will work fine and 10 speed cassette should fit ok IIRC0

Duly ordered 10sp cassette and just to be on the safe side a 10sp chain.
Rear mech Sora 9sp should be fine with the 10sp.0 -
oops, yes need a 10 speed chain, nice one!
