Hicks Lodge - A great place to take the kids biking

Following on from the recent post about cycling in South Derbyshire I thought I'd give Hicks Lodge a post all to itself. (Yes I know it's actually just across the border in Leicestershire.)
It's a great place for kids to build up their bike skills and have fun.
The Shell Brook Trail (the most technical trail there) flows lovely and it has terrain that they can push harder as their skills improve.
I've added a link with more details below, including a couple of short videos of my daughter (on her first rider there on her new bike).

There's also a good kid friendly youth hostel nearby, as well as loads of things to do, if you want to spend a few days there.

Next time we stop there we might try around the Moira furnace.
I think I might also ride up to Hicks on the night and do a few laps in the dark, looks like it should be fun.0
