After years out of Road riding (Mountain Biking) lack of local usable trails and consistent poor weather has made me decide to get back on the road...
In the recent flurry of 2016 bikes coming out I have been looking at bikes that retail at £999.00 ish but are now selling for the £750-£900.00 mark.
Such as Giant Defy's & Dale's CAAD8's.
is there anything between them at this price bracket or should I go for say a Ribble carbon build?
thanks in advance.

As Crannman suggests above - have a look at the Planet X range.
This would be within your budget at just a whisker under £900

Recently visited their Rotherham/Sheffield showroom to check out the London Road disc offering and had a good mooch around looking at other models on display. I was very impressed by the quality and finish so don't think you would be disappointed.
Came out well in a BR review - admittedly from 5 years ago.

Also the reviews on the PX webpage are fairly glowing0 -
I recently got a CAAD10 from Wheelbase for £800, which I can't fault at all.
They're also doing a carbon Synapse for £999 at the moment.0 -
Thanks guys, I didn't think about Rose and they are really nice looking bikes..
The Synapse is very tempting too..0
