Brrr...who switched on winter?

Horrible down in London this morning, drizzling and absolutely freezing, with a nice stiff breeze to add a cherry on top. Am breaking out the winter clobber if it carries on like this
It's just a hill. Get over it.

First day this season with my legs covered.
Not sure if I'll need longs on the way home, but resigned to it in the mornings now.0 -

I think there was an administrative error between the 1st and 3rd of July which led to it briefly being off but it was back on again by the 4th.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

I don't know what you're all talking about - it's been a brilliant summer, my grass has only just reverted to green after having been scorched brown during July and AugustDolan Titanium ADX 2016

Even I pondered whether it would be nicer this morning with arm warmers. Had windproof gilet on (open) in case of eventualities but still overheated...Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

North South divide, weather forecast for Warwickshire is a max of 27C today!
Could have done with some cool weather here (In India right now) at the weekend, tried to do a 200km Audax but I got so hot I was drinking a litre every 10km and just couldn't sustain any pace without feeling really 'unwell' (nearly blacked out when I pushed it), had to bail after 120km - discretion being the better part of valour!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Any chance of finding the culprit that pressed the "turn sun off" button? Very wet and windy this morning, so bailed for the 1st time in 3 weeks since having my bike, as the mudguards haven't arrived yet!Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Winter? Winter? London was around 10° this morning. Lovely pleasant late summer morning round here at 5°.
It's September, FFS, it's not supposed to be 5 degrees. Ever.

6.5°C this morning at 7am but the nearly cloudless skies soon warmed up. By the end of the day it was actually hot in the cloudless sky this afternoon. Lovely day indeed. However I'm thinking I might only last the month out in.shorts before covering my legs for winter. If those morning temperatures of 6.5°C is cold then I guess you're living down south and need a spell living north of Birmingham. I used to walk the lakes hills in shorts well into November. Think I switched to trousers after the first.snow one year. I know posties (stereotype alerts but seriously true with the two posties I knew) who wore shorts all year round when doing their rounds. Cumbria/north Yorkshire areas for their rounds I believe.
We had an ok summer this year IMHO. I'm getting worried about the coming winter weather. Half read the cover of a little news rag that a cold winter is.coming with temps as low as -20C with the cold snap coming as early as next month and lasting some time. Worried but not if it was the daily wail I read. Can't remember now.0 -
I wouldn't worry.
They can't get next weeks forecast correct, far less next month, or longer. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Yes, I live in the South. Where it's sometimes warm. No, I've never lived in the North. Birmingham's as far north as I've lived. Sorry I don't live up to Northern standards of weather-heroism involving the wearing of Speedoes in arctic temperatures, but I make no apologies for that    .
All references to the Daily Heil and related bog-roll substitutes are a little wide of the mark as well, we aren't all swivel-eyed right-wing loons down here!

We are now at that time of year when you need a jacket to ride in, but get too hot if you wear it home again, but too cold if you don't!0

or as i refer to it, the time of year where i'm carrying two sometimes three different types of kit, autumn/winter for the morning and summerish/autumn for the way home.

Base layers help massively with this as they fold up nice and small. You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quin.0 -

Tosh, you always carry 4 changes of clothes regardless of the season, it's just as it does get colder you wear more of them so come -10, you are indeed wearing 4 jerseys etc and it takes you hours to get undressed enough to get to the bar...Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]
